The Da Vinci code
Has any one else read the da vinci code?
I thought it was a really good book. It was gripping and hard to put down.

The Da Vinci Code was indeed an excellent book and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

It’s… well-paced. But read any more Dan Brown books and you’ll realize that they’re all written using the same bizarre formula – at least 4 or 5 complete 180 degree plot turns where a familiar character always betrays the protagonist, who comes out of it with the love of his/her life (Robert Langdon got lucky twice in that respect – Brown just conveniently forgot about Angels and Demons’ love interest by the end of the book).
Thrillers in general are fun, but all the background/foreign countries/science is often just there to disguise the lack of character development, and the superficiality of it all.
Oh, and look up the Tom Clancy plot generator if you’re interested in formulaic authors…
